Music Director job at St Mary Catholic Church Woodstock, IL, US

Job Description

St. Mary Parish Woodstock is looking to hire a part time (15-20 hours/week) Music Director. The following are the duties and responsibilities of this position:

Schedule cantors and accompanists
Choose music for all Masses, both traditional and contemporary
Work with bridal couples to plan wedding music
Work with the Liturgist to communicate any changes, as needed
Establish and grow choirs (adult and children), musical leadership at all weekend liturgies (keyboard, vocal and choral needs)
Attend meetings with the pastor, as needed

Successful candidate should possess the following qualifications: Must have firm knowledge and understanding of the Roman Catholic faith, Mass structure and liturgical music for Masses, weddings, and other traditional Catholic celebrations. Choral conducting experience and proficiency with piano. Ability to pass background check which may include fingerprinting, drug testing, and credit history. Outstanding communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities. Degree in music or liturgy or related field preferred.
