Medical Secretary/Technician

Can you multi-task and continue to have a smile on your face? Our practice needs a dedicated advocate to help us give our patients a 5-star experience and keep us on time!  You will have the incredible honor of working across all departments, as we care for the members of our community. 

NO Experience Needed:

Prior medical office or eyecare experience are a plus but not required.  We will be happy to train the right person with a great attitude, a helpful heart, and a love of learning!  

Some of your duties will include: 

• Make our patients feel welcome, at ease and well cared for.
• Handle incoming and outgoing calls, speaking in a professional tone with the client on the phone to handle their concern/issue/reason for calling, appointment requests (scheduling, canceling and rescheduling appts) 
• Display an empathetic manner with the goal to understand and address patient needs and concerns. 
• Assisting our office professionals; document in pulling charts, updating records, opening and closing of the office.
• Maintain and order contact lens supplies
• Spending 15+ minutes with each patient before the doctor comes in, performing duties such as measuring retinal function, peripheral vision, and retinal thickness; and taking retinal photographs. (You’ll be using the same type of instruments NASA uses on the space station!)
• Taking notes for the doctor during the patient’s exam, organize and document procedures for accurate patient records, ordering tests based on the doctor’s diagnosis, and accurately coding procedures
• Consistent cross-training for optimum career growth and development (expected and offered).
