Be a part of our story....
Like most people, we love a great story. Our community has given us a great story that we get to live every day!
It started in Clarkston in 2016 and now we are in Commerce too! More to come!!!
Welcome to Ace Hardware of Clarkston and Ace Hardware of Commerce! The Area's only locally owned and operated Ace Hardware. We are neighbors serving neighbors. The Clarkston location has a long history - first opening as a Damman Hardware back in the early 90's, then becoming Ace some 10 years later. As with life, chapters have a beginning and and ending, and in early 2016 the prior owners made the choice to close the store. As local residents with hardware experience, we jumped at the chance to re-open the store to serve our community! After several months of extensive renovation and updating, we re-opened the store as \Ace Hardware of Clarkston\ in October of 2016. Local residents now have the option to buy local and stay local.
We loved the relationship we created with our community through our store, so we decided to do it again in 2022! After several more months of extensive renovation and updating, we reopened the store as Ace Hardware of Commerce and gave local residents the opportunity to buy local and stay local once again.
We believe that you cannot beat the service and personal touch of a hardware store of a store owned and operated by your neighbors. We are proud to be the only locally owned store in the Area - when your local store is run by your neighbors, instead of a huge corporation - you will feel the difference immediately as a customer and as an associate. Our Family looks forward to serving the community for many years to come!
It’s been very humbling for our family to see the warm welcome the community has shown our family, our staff and our store. Within our first year we were named the area’s top Hardware Store by readers of the Clarkston News and have received that award every year since. We have been awarded the Pinnacle Performance award every year from Ace Hardware since our first year - as one of the best performing Ace stores in the country, and have been awarded the Clarkston Community Collaboration Award for our humanitarian efforts in Clarkston. In our second year we were awarded the Beacon Award by our industry as one of the best new store's in the nation. In January 2023, we were recognized by the Ace Hardware Corporation as The Coolest Hardware Store 2023!
None of our success would be possible without our team! We are proud of our diverse team made up of all ages and backgrounds. We enjoy mentoring our new high school students, and enjoy learning from our senior staff, some of whom are approaching 80!
We simply are here to serve our community - and thank you for considering us for your future employment!
As we develop our second store in Commerce Township - we are eager to grow our team and serve even more neighbors in Commerce and the surrounding areas.
Best Regards,
The Haley Family
