Job Description

Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

Reports to: HR Manager.

Job Summary: The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training and development, benefits administration, performance management, and compliance. This role serves as a point of contact for employee inquiries and works collaboratively with the HR team to enhance employee engagement and ensure adherence to company policies and applicable laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate full-cycle recruitment activities, including posting job openings, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks, and managing onboarding processes.
  • Coordinate and conduct new employee orientations to foster positive employee integration.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to employee questions regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Assist in benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and communicating benefits information to employees.
  • Support performance management processes by assisting managers with evaluations, documenting performance issues, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Participate in employee relations activities, including conflict resolution, investigations, and documenting outcomes.
  • Maintain HRIS and employee files to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
  • Assist in developing and delivering training programs and HR-related workshops.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Provide administrative support for HR initiatives, special projects, and events.


Qualifications:

  • Bilingual- Spanish/English.
  • Experience with Union and Non-union employees required.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist role or equivalent HR position.
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, employment laws, and best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and independently.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred but not required.


Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment. Standard office hours apply, with occasional overtime required.
