Position: Harvest Winemaker
Status: Seasonal with the potential for fulltime
Salary: $30-$35 per hour, DOE

Job Description:

Bin To Bottle is seeking an experienced and passionate Harvest Winemaker to facilitate wine production at our winery in south Napa. The Winemaker will oversee cellar operations, manage production projects, and provide leadership to the production team. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a strong background in winemaking, and is dedicated to producing exceptional wines while fostering professional growth within their team.

Responsibilities:

•  Supervise all day-to-day cellar operations, including harvest, bulk wine, barrels, and bottling preparation.
•  Provide technical support and guidance to the production staff regarding winemaking techniques and procedures.
•  Coordinate day-to-day operations and write work orders for all production-related tasks.
•  Participate in wine tasting and blending decisions at all stages of the winemaking process, conducting evaluations and recommending treatments.
•  Ensure compliance with all legal requirements related to wine production.
•  Maintain quality control and ensure the execution of work meets company standards.
•  Contribute to continuous improvement of winemaking processes and procedures.
•  Monitor wine conditions to prevent spoilage and ensure product integrity.
•  Prepare short-, medium-, and long-term production plans and coordinate team efforts to meet client needs efficiently.
•  Identify and resolve technical and production issues to enhance performance and achieve business objectives.
•  Work closely with clients to plan, manage, and deliver outstanding winemaking, fermentation/blending, and packaging projects.
•  Lead efforts with the winery maintenance team to maintain operational efficiency of equipment and facilities.

Qualifications:

•  Degree in Viticulture/Enology from an accredited university or winemaking program preferred.
•  Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in beverage production, with a strong background in winemaking.
•  Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong presentation abilities.
•  Ability to work weekends and long hours as necessary, particularly during peak production times.
•  Strong computer skills, including proficiency in relevant software applications. Experience with Vintrace is a plus.
•  Intermediate to advanced computer and typing skills.
•  Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office Word and Excel
•  Proven track record of mentoring and developing staff.
•  Bilingual a plus
•  Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 lbs. as required in a winery environment.
