As a Garden Center Cashier / Carry Out, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and maintaining the overall appearance of our store. This position is perfect for plant lovers with a desire to grow their knowledge in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment, who love staying active, working outdoors, and interacting with customers. This position will be scheduled for 20-40 hours of work per week.

Responsibilities

• Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Answer and direct phone calls professionally.
• Safely and efficiently load products into customers’ vehicles.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Water plants and perform basic plant care.
• Unload shipments and merchandise stock.
• Assist customers and coworkers by providing resources and facilitating sales.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment.
• May assist with plant deliveries and installation projects.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of cashier experience in retail or service industry.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of plants (annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, tropicals, etc.).
• Punctual and prepared for work each day.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
• Enjoys physically demanding work and can work outside in all weather conditions.
• Ability to push up to 200 pounds with castors (wheeled carts, dollies, etc.).
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Able to walk, bend, stoop, and stand for the entire shift.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
