Our client in Honolulu, HI has an immediate opening for a Director of Beer, Wine, and Spirits on a direct hire basis.

Director of Beer, Wine, and Spirits:
The Director of Beer, Wine, and Spirits is responsible for managing all aspects of sales and merchandising for the liquor department across the company's grocery stores and affiliated markets. This role requires in-depth knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits, as well as market trends and customer preferences. Working closely with the head of sales and merchandising, you will develop and implement strategies to enhance the department's performance and ensure the team delivers high-quality service and merchandising aligned with the company's standards.
Formulate and implement strategies to achieve sales goals and expand market share in the liquor department.
Develop and execute merchandising plans that meet customer needs and align with the company's vision.
Ensure the product mix reflects customer preferences and trends, regularly updating and maintaining all sets.
Implement pricing strategies and promotional activities to boost sales and maintain market competitiveness.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with liquor suppliers and vendors to ensure a proper assortment, competitive pricing, and reliable delivery.
Oversee inventory levels to ensure product availability and minimize waste and excess stock.
Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer preferences to identify growth opportunities. Monitor competition and stay informed about customer trends to respond effectively.
Ensure adherence to all laws, regulations, and company policies related to the sale and marketing of alcoholic beverages.
Work closely with other departments and store management to develop and execute company programs and initiatives. Ensure alignment with the executive team.
Embody and promote the company's mission, vision, values, guiding principles, and house rules.

Director of Beer, Wine, and Spirits:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
3-5 years of managerial or leadership experience in the retail liquor industry.
In-depth knowledge and passion for beer, wine, and spirits.
Strong leadership skills with a commitment to the company’s values and objectives.
Ability to achieve results through team collaboration.
Proficiency in managing multiple projects concurrently.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Capability to synthesize complex data into actionable plans.
Strategic thinker with long-term planning abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Office, and PowerPoint.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Travel to store locations and neighboring islands for implementation, maintenance, and training is required. Mainland and international travel may be necessary for industry events.
Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed. Periods off-island may be required to support company initiatives.
Primarily office-based but may involve work in store environments.
Ability to analyze data, interpret findings, and solve problems effectively.
Quick decision-making skills, sometimes with limited information.
Public speaking skills for presenting information to various audiences.
