Chevron’s Information Risk Strategy & Management organization is seeking a self-directed professional with cyber threat intelligence experience to fill an open role of Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst. Candidates are expected to have a strong knowledge of the cyber threat landscape, familiarity with security tools, and possess strong critical thinking and communication skills. Chevron analysts are expected to be objective and deliver timely, accurate, relevant, and actionable information to a variety of customers to include technical line employees and executives.
The Role
This role will include the following job duties:
Analysts must be able to investigate and research cyber threats that align with Chevron intelligence requirements and the broader requirements of the energy sector.
Analysts should have excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences daily.
Analysts should have enough technical knowledge and be comfortable using Security Event & Incident Management and Endpoint Detection and Response technologies to conduct internal network research.
As a cyber threat intelligence analyst at Chevron, you will:
Use your abilities as a critical thinker to discern patterns of activity.
Be a seasoned communicator with the ability to write clear, concise reports on short deadlines.
Use your technical knowledge to research network IOCs
Use the MITRE ATT&CK framework to support a variety of requirements
Be a self-starter that looks for ways to fill knowledge gaps and improve the team.
Work well with others and can successfully collaborate amongst different teams.
Requirements
Experience
At least 5 years experience in cyber threat intelligence or a related field.
Mature understanding of the threat landscape as it pertains to the energy industry.
Previous use of structured analytic techniques such as, but not limited to, analysis of competing hypothesis.
Experience providing support to incident response, vulnerability management, and risk management teams
Skills
Skilled in critical thinking and reasoning to take multiple sources of information and come to conclusions
Strong oral and written communication skills - quick turnaround of concise, well-reasoned material
Ability to research using Kusto Query Language, Splunk indexes, and/or similar tools
Ability to start and bring projects to completion
Ability to apply artificial intelligence tools, such as Microsoft CoPilot, to your work
Education
Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, communications, or a Bachelor’s in an unrelated field with relevant work experience.
Certifications such as CompTIA certifications and GIAC certifications are a plus
