Job Title: Estimator - Multi-Family Cabinet Fabrication and Installation

Introduction: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team specializing in multi-family cabinet fabrication and installation projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating for cabinetry, excellent analytical skills, and a deep understanding of the multi-family construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Analysis: Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, and other project documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for multi-family cabinet fabrication and installation projects.
* Cost Estimation: Calculate material and labor costs, including overhead and profit margins, to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
* Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Solicit and evaluate bids from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards.
* Value Engineering: Identify cost-saving opportunities and suggest alternative materials or methods to optimize project budgets while maintaining quality.
* Client Communication: Collaborate with clients, architects, and general contractors to clarify project requirements and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
* Contract Review: Assist in the review and negotiation of contracts, ensuring that all terms are favorable and that all parties understand the scope and costs involved.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of estimates, bid documents, and correspondence for future reference and auditing purposes.
* Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and construction methods to ensure competitive and current estimating practices.
Qualifications:
* Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in estimating for cabinet fabrication and installation projects, preferably in the multi-family sector.
* Skills: Strong proficiency in estimating software and tools; strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills; ability to interpret complex technical documents.
* Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of cabinetry materials, construction methods, and industry standards; familiarity with multi-family construction processes and regulations.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively with clients, team members, and subcontractors.
* Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing estimates and managing project information.
