Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and friendly barista to join our team to create memorable experiences for our customers through exceptional coffee preparation and great customer service. The ideal candidate will be passionate about coffee, possess excellent communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Greet the guests who approach the counter and walk into the café.
• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee/tea beverages, including latte art and the customers’ requests.
• Answer all guest questions related to product and displayed items.
• Serving prepared foods & pastries.
• Ensure that all items are correctly rung-in on checks.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm during periods of high volume to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the team.
• Communicate effectively with store manager regarding store, employee and customer needs.
• Maintain clean and orderly appearance of front and back of cafe. For example; when needed, help pick up dishes, wipe dirty tables, straighten out chairs, etc.
• Maintain appearance of counter and the display in an on-going manner throughout the hours of operation.
• Keep the counter stocked with all paper goods, ingredients, syrups, glassware and fully restock it in the end of the shift.
• Follow and complete closing counter check list prior to departure.
• Accurately maintain the organization and cleanliness of the counter in accordance with the Health Department standards.
• Communicate any problems (lighting, cooling units, etc.) to management immediately.
• Break down coffee machines and clean properly at the end of each shift. 

Minimal Essential Requirements:

• Must have 2-years Previous experience as a barista or in a related position.
• The ability to work as part of a team, personal cleanliness, and uniform cleanliness.
• Basic food handling, preparation, and cleaning skills are required.
• Time management and ability to work under pressure to manage high volume of production.
• General coffee knowledge.
• Experience using a manual espresso machine and ability to calibrate the espresso machine and coffee grinder.
• Ability to pour latte art.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• Available to work flexible hours including: Early mornings, weekends.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 25 lbs.

• A polished and stylish presence.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with various POS's (Toast) is preferred.
