Job Title: Associate Attorney
Location: Iowa (In-person)
We are a regional civil litigation and collections law firm headquartered in Iowa, seeking a talented and motivated Associate Attorney to join our growing team. Our firm practices across multiple states, including Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Texas, and we are looking for a dedicated professional licensed to practice law in Iowa. Preference will be given to candidates licensed in other states or those willing to obtain licensure in additional jurisdictions.
Position Overview:
As an Associate Attorney, you will be responsible for managing and litigating a variety of civil matters, including creditor's rights, insurance subrogation, commercial contracts, and general civil litigation. The ideal candidate will have prior courtroom experience and a strong understanding of courtroom procedures, the Iowa Rules of Civil Procedure, and the Iowa Rules of Evidence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Litigation and Case Management : Litigate and manage civil cases, including creditor's rights, insurance subrogation, and commercial contracts.
* Legal Research and Strategy : Conduct legal research, review claims, and develop legal theories and strategies.
* Motion and Discovery : Draft motions and discovery documents, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
* Pre-Trial Preparation : Coordinate witnesses, file exhibits, and handle all aspects of pre-trial preparation.
* Court Appearances : Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, motions, and trials.
Geographic Preference : Midwest region, particularly states such as Kentucky, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
Practice Areas : Civil Litigation, Creditor's Rights, Commercial Contracts, Insurance Subrogation.
Qualifications:
* Required : Active license to practice law in Iowa.
* Preferred : Licensing in additional states and/or openness to obtaining licensure in other states.
* Experience : Prior experience in civil litigation, including courtroom experience, and familiarity with the Iowa Rules of Civil Procedure and Rules of Evidence.
* Skills : Strong research and analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently and collaboratively.
